Mama Elephant - 3rd anniversary Event

On October 10, 2015 I went to Mama Elephant's 3rd anniversary Event in NYC. Not gonna lie, the commute could be easier. The location of the event is kinda of in the middle of no where. =X and it was cash only. Either way I'm glad I went. This was a one man mission. I didn't ask anyone to come with me. It's weird for me to start talking to strangers. I did meet a very nice and chatty women. She was very nice and mid event when I wanted to leave she convinced me to stay and I did. It was a great experience and I was in the group picture!!

I actually don't have the original picture. As I'm typing this I think I will have to ask createdbylorraine to see if she can send to me!

I went with my copic markers but completely missed the part of the email where they asked us to bring our own ink par and stamp block!

Here is the damage that day. Ouch.

I already had the cosmic star stamp set but I got the die at the event.

Just whipped something out quickly something didn't look right so I changed it a little bit a few days later.

I think this version is a lot better.

Lawn Fawn Ready Set Snow add on die cut!

It was so HARD to get this die cut and even harder to get the stamp set. So as of right now i only have the add- on =X. I was so excited when I got but I literally had nothing to put in it. Looked at my stash and found pre colored baby images from the Lawn Fawn plus one set and a light bulb lite up! I have a coworker who's sister's baby is due near Christmas and I thought a baby shower card in a snow globe!!

Lawn Fawn Love you Latte stamp and die set

I actually got this Lawn Fawn Love you Latte stamp and die set last Christmas. I made a few cards with this and already gave it away. I must say it's a very useful set because you can do everyday cards, thank you cards, holiday cards and even maybe Valentine's day with the " love you a latte " sentiment.

DIY shelf for Melisa and Doug puzzles Part I

Hello mommies with toddlers and Melisa and Doug puzzles. My main man love his puzzles and he always attempts to store them vertically. You can imagine how that does not work out and I'm constantly fixing the puzzles and trying to account for all the pieces.

I initially wanted to buy the Melissa & Doug Puzzle Storage Case $12.99 but later saw this version Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wire Puzzle Rack $19.99.
After reading some reviews, some parents says it doesn't fit the puzzles correctly, i didn't see a point in spending that kinda of money to have "some puzzle not fitting right".

My friend sent me a link of a mom that use a FedEx boxes to make one! I thought I give it a try and see where it takes me.

Main supply ! Large FedEx box!

Tool : Razor blade, Ruler, Market, maybe scissors too.

I noticed that one puzzle fits perfectly ( measurement wish ) into exactly half a Large box. Also made some marks and started to cut. Just a quick tip: don't expect each box to have the same measurements. I was confused for a little bit because the measurements didn't match up and I was going crazy. You will just have to find a middle line for each box.

ta da! as you can see the BIGGER puzzle sticks out. I'm okay with this, I rather have this then having a big box with wastes space for the smaller puzzles. I don't know if you can tell since each end was sealed with it's original flap. I had to put a piece of cardboard in between teach 1/2 box so it's leveled.
Picture above no cardboard in between, I looks like it wants to topple over
Picture below with cardboard.

I just have to stick it together once I decide what color duck tape I want to use!
Stay tune for Part II!

FYI : this project is totally doable with a toddler running around. You just to have to make sure you are doing it on a table AND retract your blade every time. There are no exception to this! You have to wash your hands? retract the blade even if it doesn't look like toddler can reach.

Lawn Fawn Monster Mash Birthday card

Made this for a baby boy turning ONE! he is having a monster theme Birthday party so I figured this Lawn Fawn Monster Mash set is perfect. The three little monsters are stamped onto water color paper and i used the Lawn Fawn Monster Mash die to cut out the heart, the party hat and the bow tie. They are mounted on with foam tape. I used the Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday Border die. I just love this.

I water colored all the image with Tim Holts Distress Markers and inks.  Initially I used the blending tool for the background but didn't like the look so i use a larger paint brush and applied water.
much better.

If you have Lawn Fawn Monster Mash set you know that one of the sentiment is " have a boo-itful day". Quick tip, last December I made my husband a birthday card with this set and I piece together the word " Happy Boo - day ". So you can make a birthday card that way too!

Thoughts?

Baby Girl First Birthday Card

This Lawn Fawn Plus One Stamp set and matching dies were also a recent purchase. I just love the little oven. I was itching to use this but didn't have a baby shower coming up... but I came up with the following card for a First Birthday ! with the help of Lawn Fawn Milo ABCs Ekk this was also a recent haul. I just LOVE Lawn Fawn. I waterolored it with Tim Holtz distress market and inks.

I personally think this was a genius idea AND it rhymes! kinda.

thoughts?

Robot Birthday Card

I've been having a lot more time to do things at night after Grayson fall asleep. I think the trick is to stay up! most nights I get too tired to do anything else after Grayson sleep BUT if I can make my way into the office instead of the bedroom. I'm usually okay to start crafting!

I made this card with an old robot stamp and the Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday Border die.
for $7 it's one of my better investments. I just love the way this looks. It instantly jazz up the card.
I used Tim Holtz distress ink to watercolor the image.

What do you guys think?

Tim holtz distress markers! And card making.

Recently purchased Tim Holtz distressed markers on eBay. While I did save money on them. I had the worst experience with this ebay seller and I'm still talking to them about a dried market and one with frayed tip. Seller insist that it must be lay on its side for 24-72 hours. I'll try that but just wanted to note that the package does not note this. As for the frayed tip. It's definitely a defect. Which is fine it bugs me that seller made excuses for it instead of just replacing it.

All other markers were fine and I had a blast playing with them. I loved the way it looked. I made two mini card with scraps and one shaker card.

Lawn Fawn monster stamps and die set "sending you monster hugs "

Previously I mentioned that I hauled the Tim Holtz distressed mini inks and the blender tool. There are loads of tutorials on how to create a background with these inks. I'm pretty crafty but it took a few tries to get used to. Also I noticed that you have to press/blend it pretty hard. It's not as easy as it looks on YouTube but of course the results are amazing.

I tried putting dots of water to get the speckled look but in person it's not as speckled at the picture. Anyone knows why? I did use a very very old water coloring paper and it's super thin. It was from my college days. 10 years plus! Yicks

I used the following inks for the background.

So I had this wood mounted stamp for a while but apparently never had the right type of ink pad. My images never came out this good before. All thanks to the Avery Elle pigment ink pads!
I only own two ( see below ) Raspberry and Pure white. Note to self: must get more.

Diet food- Healthy Choice Top Chef - grilled chicken marinara with Parmesan review

Healthy Choice Top Chef - grilled chicken marinara with Parmesan review.

This was my first time trying this particular one and I really did enjoyed it.

I plan on doing a serious of these frozen diet food. So let's create a rating system for these types of review. Let's say 1-5 , 5 being the best

Portion : 5 i think this is as good as it gets for an item that is 270 calories.
Texture : 4 the pasta was delicious so was the broccoli and sauce but as usually the chicken can feel rubbery BUT i do think for a frozen dish this is the least rubbery I've had.
Taste : 5 for sure it was delicious. I am definitely buying this again
Conclusion : 5 will definitely be one of my go to flavors.

Have you tried this flavor? What did you think? Do you have a favorite Healthy Choice dish?

Joann.com Haul

If you live in Brooklyn, NY like me, you do not access to Joann's. So you go to Joann.com instead. They have great sales! the only thing is that you have to pay for shipping. I waited until it the stamps items were 50% off AND a 20% coupon code.

I purchased Tim Holtz mini Distress inks! I have a few full size Distress inks but it was just to expensive to get more colors. I was so excited when they came out of with the minis.
I ordered Kit 1,2,4,7,8 and 9 plus the tins. I 100% recommend getting the tins. I just makes organizing so much easier. The gaps are are a little narrow so it's sometimes difficult to take the inks out. I also order the round Ranger Blending Tool ( round ) with the Blending Foam Replacements so I was able to put one pad under each inks. I love it.

Been wanting the Paper smooches Chubby Chums for a while! These are very good quality stamps and super adorable but i'm not a fan of the fonts of the sentiments.

Look at how adorable they are. The dog and chick on the right was colored in by copics and the other three on the left was done with the distress ink and water! I love the way it turned out.

On the other hand I LOVE the fonts of Avery Elle's stamps.
Sending You Stamp. I haven't played with this stamp set yet but I will soon!

Gender reveal Party! It's a Scavenger Hunt Themed!

16 months later! I post details on the baby reveal party! yicks! talk about procrastinating.
The reveal was held May 10, 2013! at my old apartment.

So this started with a lot of googling a I love the Scavenger Hunt themed idea.

This reveal was for my "Top 10" group of friends. Yup that's what we called ourselves the "Top 10".
I was able to find some really good riddles and rhymes to incorporate into the scavenger hunt. Since this little baby was the first of the Top 10 babies I really wanted it to be special. I incorporated everyone's name in each riddle.

Here is the list of riddles.
It started with :
When I am born will I wear pink or blue?
To find out the answer you must follow the clues!

1.
Oh little baby what will you be?
Will you sit like a lady or
stand up to pee?
(Eddies' bathroom)

2.
Will I be like Auntie Judy, who loves to bake?
Or like Uncle Peter who enjoys store bought cake?
clue under the cake )

3.
Will I wear overalls, or will I wear a dress?
Find the parrot and he will point you to the rest!
(we have a cage with the cursing parrot)

4.
Will I be like Auntie Jackie, who is sweet as pie?
or like Uncle Anthony, who won't eat his eggs even when he's high.
the fridge with the eggs )

5.
Will I be like Daddy, who loves to read?
Or like Mommy, who loves her ice cream treats?
(the fridge with the eggs)

6.
Will I be like Auntie Carrie, who pees all day?
or like Uncle Danny, that can't keep his sweet tooth at bay?
(candy jar)

7.
Will I be like Uncle Miko, who can shop for hours with ease?
Or like Uncle Ren, who can't get enough of the Yankees?
( Duster )

8.
Boy or Girl, I will get lots of lovin',
but to find the answer, look and see what's
baking in the oven!
( In the oven, there is a box in the oven you can't open it until you find the key )

9.
The last clue is kinda tough,
but it's no fun if we don't play rough.
The final clue is in a book.
Find the book and be the first to look!

10.
A classic about the roaring twenties,
Leo brought the story to life,
The infamous title was not Scott's idea,
but inspired by his wife.
( on the book shelf, the riddle answer is "the Great Gatsby" and
inside this book this is a paper key that gives you permission to open the box )

The "oh baby", the bows, the mustache and the baby girl and baby boy profile was cut with my Silhouette Cameo and

The clues were printed on diaper shaped cards with number envelopes. ( note to self take pictures of those items )

And Waa La! it's a BOY!
